We are called to live the message of Evangelii Gaudium to “apply the gospel to the transformation of society.” The Peace and Justice Ministry meets monthly to discuss ways we can implement this charge. It’s a forum for people to bring their proposals and concerns to the attention of others whose hearts are set on following the teachings of Christ through the principals of Catholic Social Teachings. CST
Much of the Peace and Justice Ministry’s work has been centered on the refugee/immigrant crisis. We address resettlement, legal representation, and state and federal legislation. We focus on works of mercy providing food, clothing, books and tutoring. Although immigration is a central issue, we also join the community to feed the hungry, care for creation, promote peace, engage in activism and support legislation for a just society.
The Peace and Justice Ministry’s projects are joint efforts that include the parish, school, and other community faith groups. We publicize events in the parish bulletin. If you would like to help with an event, receive our emails, or join our group please Contact Us
