Mission Dinner Community

Mission Dinner Community
The Mission Dinner Community gathers on a weekend evening throughout the year for fellowship, to enjoy a great meal, and to raise funds for poverty and justice-related causes. One of our main missions is to support Fr. David Bello Salaices, O.P., and his parish, Santa Maria de Guadalupe in Mexicali.  We also support the East Bay Sanctuary Covenant, Casa Francisca Refugee House, and other causes.

Our Mission Dinners are organized around special events such as visits by the Pastor of Santa Maria de Guadalupe or other members of the Mission program.

Fr. David Bello, O.P., pastor of our Sister parish us a thank you letter for our gracious donation of $2500. He shares with us information on how the parish has fared during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Request to Help Educate Two Young Girls

Doña Maria Teresa and the Sisters of Charity of Mexicali have asked us to consider supporting the education of sisters Laura and Cinthia. The girls are living with their grandparents and are supported by their uncle, a faithful parishioner of Santa María de Guadalupe.

The Sisters of Charity are requesting an initial year of assistance for public school, and if the sisters do well enough academically, they will apply to parochial school for the following school year. The cost for school supplies and clothing is $100 USD per month, per girl (twice that amount for school supplies in September), for a monthly commitment that would total $2200 for the school year.

If you are moved to participate, please visit the parish Donate page and select ‘Mexicali’ for a one-time or periodic donation. Or you may send or drop off a check at the parish office. Thank you in advance for your support.
