2020 Mary Magdalen Festival

Festival Flyer created my Laura Morland.

When it became evident that by mid July we would not be able to gather at church as a community the planning changed to providing as much as possible over the internet using Facebook, Go ToMeeting You Tube and Zoom.

Fr. Nick called upon the children of the parish and the young-at-heart to participate in a Chalk Art Challenge, submitting photos or videos of their work. Heather Skinner, Vice Principal at the School of the Madeleine organized the challenge. John Ernst, a high school student created the video. Enjoy the Chalk Art Challenge.

Professors Alison Benders, J.D., Ph.D. and Lisa Fullam DVM and Th.D, created an event teaser for the Festival Leture which would take place on July 25th, using Zoom. Watch the video invitation to the Festival Lecture.

Saturday, July 25Virtual Mary Magdalen Festival Lecture: “I’ve Seen the Lord”: Resurrection Hope in Turbulent Times,” presented by Alison Benders, Ph.D. & Lisa Fullam, DVM and Th.D.  Watch the video

The day concluded with Fr. Nick’s Virtual Dinner hosted over Go ToMeeting. Angelo D’Alo of Agrodolce Osteria provided a ToGo dinner menu. Parishioners ordered and picked up their dinners and gathered in their homes ready to join Fr. Nick.

Andy Canepa prerecorded a performance of Beethoven’s Opus 81a which was on the parish Facebook page for one week.
