MBWR – Physical Health Resources

 

Sometimes when we are feeling down, low-energy or discouraged we are out of balance physically. We may not be getting enough or regular sleep or there may be a chemical imbalance or a physical illness which we are not aware of. Visiting your physician for a check-up is a good first action that we recommend.  Additionally, regular exercise, good nutrition and stress-management can go a long way to improving one’s outlook.

1) Stress Management

 

  • Meditation is an excellent way to bring the stress down and gain a few moments of peace and serenity. Studies show that regular meditation (even 10 minutes) can change brain chemistry and bring a sense of well-being.
    • Free and subscription-based Meditation Apps for your phone – here’s a few: Calm, Simply Being, Headspace.
    • Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) – there are many free YouTube videos.
    • Many other resources available with a simple Google search.
